Nesting

The pair were busy this evening, bobbing and tucking and prodding in their nest.  One flew off to perch on a sycamore branch just upriver.  This one (she?) remained.  I wonder if there are eggs to warm and protect or if they're just getting their bed ready for those to come.  Knowing these two share this patch of the world, this languorous river, this ancient mountain ridge with me gives me deep joy and a sense of peace that only the natural world does.
